Wedding vendor prices in Ghana: photographers, caterers, decorators

A GHS 3,000 photographer and a GHS 25,000 photographer are different products. So are a basic local plate and a seafood buffet, and a DJ hired for five hours and an MC hired for the traditional morning. This page prints the published bands side by side and does not average them. July 2025 news leads treat Accra, Kumasi, and Takoradi as one urban market and do not publish a Kumasi discount. Kumasi classifieds at GHS 600 to GHS 1,500 are floors, not wedding packages. Ask Kumasi vendors for their own quote.

Photography, video, and drone

Vendor cards in 2025 and 2026 start lower than planner blogs, and they describe shorter days.

• Focus Craft: wedding photography only, GHS 3,000 for 7 hours.
• NNN Studios, Accra, labelled as founding rates: GHS 4,500 up to 8 hours, and GHS 7,500 for traditional plus white. Drone is GHS 1,200 extra. An extra hour is GHS 500. Express delivery is GHS 800 extra.
• Beck Vision, Kasoa: photo-and-video bundles at GHS 3,500, GHS 6,000, and GHS 10,000, with drone only inside the top bundle.
• JoyRibbons, Accra, June 2025: full-day photo GHS 5,000 to GHS 20,000, video described as similar, and at least GHS 8,000 to GHS 15,000 combined.
• Knotting, March 2026: two photographers and one videographer at GHS 12,000 to GHS 18,000. A package with drone, a live stream, and a pre-wedding shoot at GHS 25,000 to GHS 45,000.

A "top" band of about GHS 14,000 to GHS 15,000 on one October 2025 blog is not the same product as the GHS 25,000 to GHS 45,000 package. There is no clean drone-only market range beyond NNN's add-on, the Kasoa bundle, and a Kumasi classified at GHS 700 per service. Compare Accra photographers and Accra videographers by hours, team size, and whether drone and travel are inside the fee.

Catering, and the drinks bill beside it

Do not average GHS 30 with GHS 450. Show the row that matches the menu, and ask whether drinks, water, and servers are in the plate.

• The Mirror, March 2026, an Accra caterer in Oyibi: about GHS 30 to GHS 120 a head. Basic local dishes sit lower. Tilapia, goat, or special sides sit higher. Fellows Restaurant in Adenta quoted GHS 250 a head with dishes and drinks included.
• Kente Knots, January 2025, an unsourced promotional note: GHS 40 to GHS 100, with an average pegged at GHS 50, drinks usually extra.
• JoyRibbons: GHS 80 to GHS 200, drinks usually extra, and GHS 20,000 to GHS 40,000 of food for 200 guests.
• Frankev, December 2025: weddings at GHS 150 to GHS 250 a head.
• Knotting, March 2026: standard jollof, fried rice, chicken, and salad at GHS 150 to GHS 200. A premium buffet with seafood and grills at GHS 250 to GHS 450. For 200 guests, a separate drinks bill of GHS 10,000 for local drinks and water, or GHS 15,000 to GHS 25,000 for an open bar. Small chops at GHS 80 a plate.

No page prices "jollof," "local," and "continental" as three named plates. The usable distinction is basic local dishes versus tilapia, goat, or seafood, and whether drinks are in the quote. A viral creator budget of about GHS 250,000 for a whole wedding is one reel, and the write-ups of that reel already disagree with each other. It is not an average wedding. Start with Accra caterers and ask for the protein and the drinks in writing.

Decor and flowers

Decor bands describe different finishes. JoyRibbons bundles decor and flowers at GHS 5,000 to GHS 30,000. A September 2025 decorator article says "moderate" is GHS 10,000 to GHS 40,000 and top-rated work is GHS 50,000 to GHS 100,000 and above. Knotting says standard decor is GHS 25,000 to GHS 40,000 and luxury is GHS 60,000 and above. GHS 75,000 is one creator's line, not a survey mean. A full floral install price was not published. The only standalone floral figures are bouquets: GHS 1,300 on that same creator list, and a dated April 2024 planner line of about GHS 1,000. DJ, MC, and a live band

These are three hires. A September 2025 roundup says professional wedding MCs typically charge GHS 2,500 to GHS 8,000, with Accra and Kumasi names and no city split. A traditional-MC article on the same site says about GHS 4,000 at a 200-guest wedding and GHS 10,000 and above for luxury packages, and it blurs a hired MC with a family okyeame. A guide must not. The family spokesperson is not the MC fee.

WePostWeddings, in September 2024, is the only page that tries hours: about GHS 3,000 for 5 hours and about GHS 500 per extra hour, then a summary of GHS 2,000 to GHS 5,000 and above. The same article prices a live band at about GHS 2,000 in one paragraph and GHS 3,000 in another. Marketplace live-band ads include GHS 4,500 and GHS 3,000 a day, and the event type is not limited to weddings. The longer spread is in the DJ and MC guide. Venues, as one blog's groupings

These are not contracts Edwadzi collected. JoyRibbons, Accra, June 2025: budget halls GHS 2,000 to GHS 5,000, mid-range GHS 5,000 to GHS 15,000, premium GHS 15,000 to GHS 30,000, luxury GHS 30,000 to GHS 80,000 and above. Knotting, March 2026: gardens in Haatso, Adenta, or parts of Kumasi at GHS 8,000 to GHS 15,000, often still needing toilets and lighting. East Legon and Airport City ballrooms at GHS 30,000 to over GHS 70,000. Prampram and Kokrobite beaches at GHS 12,000 to GHS 25,000. A hotel package that includes food is not a hall hire.

Bako Events Center in East Legon, on a page dated 21 March 2025, is a rare venue card: outdoor GHS 5,000 for a half day and GHS 8,000 for a full day, classic indoor for 70 people at GHS 3,000 half day and GHS 5,000 full day, and 20 percent off weekday bookings. No Tamale, Cape Coast, Sunyani, or Takoradi venue rate card was found. Browse Accra venues and ask who supplies toilets, lighting, and power.

Makeup and the gown

Makeup is not one market. An Accra freelancer profile crawled in 2026 asks GHS 500 to GHS 1,200 depending on how many days. A September 2025 article, based on quotes from wedding platforms, says mid-range is GHS 800 to GHS 1,500, top-rated work especially in Accra is GHS 2,000 to GHS 5,000, and some luxury artists ask GHS 6,000 and above. Trial and transport are often excluded. Hair can be a separate line. One creator budget priced hair at GHS 10,000.

Gowns: an October 2025 article says most shop rentals are GHS 1,500 to GHS 3,000, some simple gowns under GHS 1,000, for a fixed number of days, and ready-to-wear buys are GHS 3,000 to GHS 10,000. Knotting says Accra rentals start at GHS 3,000. JoyRibbons puts the bride's dress at GHS 2,000 to GHS 15,000 and kente outfits at GHS 1,500 to GHS 8,000. A July 2025 news extract says GHS 5,000 to GHS 15,000 per outfit, and more than one change is common. Ask whether the quote is rent or buy, how many days a rental covers, and whether kente fabric is in the sewing fee.

Knocking, bride price, and the registry

Knocking is not bride price, and neither is the fee at the assembly. A February 2026 knocking page lists two bottles of schnapps or gin and a knocking fee of GHS 200 to GHS 1,000, while a note on the same page says the fee is often GHS 200 to GHS 500. Lawyer Dennis Adjei Dwomoh, reported by Yen on 22 January 2026, said the ordinance fee is about GHS 250 at Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly and about GHS 650 at Accra Metropolitan Assembly, and that the law does not require feeding guests. How to read a quote

1. Hours of coverage, and what an hour past the booking costs.
2. Team size. One photographer or two. One MC or a family linguist as well.
3. Deliverables. Edited photos, minutes of video, album, raw files, drone, live stream.
4. Whether drinks, water, servers, and the protein are inside the plate.
5. Whether makeup trial, transport, and rush edits are extra.
6. How many days a gown rental covers, and whether kente fabric is included.
7. For a garden, who supplies toilets, lighting, and power.
8. The deposit, the balance date, and the refund rule, in writing. No 2024 to 2026 page publishes a normal deposit percent.

JoyRibbons says a Friday or a Sunday is often 15 to 25 percent cheaper than a Saturday, and that April to June and September to October are the cheaper months. Bako's weekday discount is 20 percent. Those are two sources, not a rule for every vendor.

Whole-wedding "mid-range" totals also disagree, because they count different baskets. JoyRibbons' mid-range for 100 to 200 guests is GHS 40,000 to GHS 100,000. Knotting's mid-range for a stylish 200-guest Accra wedding is GHS 80,000 to GHS 250,000 and above, before the traditional list. Do not merge them into a national average. Get the quotes from Accra photographers, Accra caterers, and Accra venues, and keep each line labelled.
